GrowPen

GrowPen is an interactive learning pen that combines physical character play with AI-supported language learning. Interchangeable figures can be attached to the top of the pen, with each character providing access to corresponding stories and audio content, turning content selection into a tangible interaction for children. The controls distinguish between child and adult use: frequently used functions remain intuitive, while side buttons such as volume controls are deliberately smaller to reduce accidental operation by children. Silicone strips along the body improve grip for small hands and prevent the pen from rolling when placed on a surface. Beyond conventional point-and-read functions, GrowPen integrates AI dialogue to provide more contextual and targeted conversations based on children’s learning content. Together with bilingual reading, songs and interactive activities, it connects physical books, character-based content and conversational learning in one child-friendly device.
